The Wave Swinger is a basic amusement ride that uses circular motion and tilting to create an exciting ride. The motion will be discussed in this Wiki, however the tilt will not because that was not covered in our curriculum. This ride works by slowly lifting the swings off the ground, while spinning the swings at the same time. As the angular speed grows centrifugal force swings the rider outward. The tilt helps exaggerate the feeling of g-force the rider feels. This creates a fun ride for those from sizes Twizzler to Hershey Bar. As the ride begins, it slowly accelerates and lifts off the ground. As it reaches top speed, the calculation for angular acceleration below was found. The lap times were logged below, with linear velocity being calculated. Then, graphs were created to visualize the data. Video shows what happened during the course of the ride.

Acceleration
a = v/t
a = 10.18/44.92 = 0.227 m/s^2Angular Velocity: (90-50)/141.13 = 0.28 rad/s
Angular Acceleration: 0.28/141.13 = 2.01e-3 rad/s^2
*Note this ride accelerated slowly, and at top speed it accelerated very little.

This is a video of the ride as it accelerates from rest and eventually reaches its maximum constant velocity.

This is a video of the ride as it decelerates to rest from its constant velocity.
